A
crescent moon reclines in languor as a warm Southern wind shimmies
through the magnolias. On the outdoor gazebo below, the best-dressed
dance band in America belts into the opening stains of 'Hit The
Road Jack'. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Golddiggers.
The Golddiggers are a dance band in the classic country club tradition.
Their repertoire embraces an impressive catalog, marrying the
best of Swing to the finest traditional Southern strains. With
almost magical precision, the Golddiggers pull from their song-list
to mold the form of any event. Start 'Jump Jive & Wail' and the
audience find their feet. Be Like You' conjures a raucous & winding
conga-line. And with At Last', heads meet shoulders as couples
sway slowly into indigo evening.
The Golddiggers tag-team bandleaders are practiced veterans of
the neo-Swing revival of the 1990's. Jen Jones (the Camaros) &
Dave Willie (Nine Parts Devil) honed their talents on stages as
far-flung as The Brown Derby in Los Angeles, New Yorks Ed Sullivan
Theater & Disney's Epcot Center. Through tight melody & sharp
banter, the dynamic boy-girl duo's interactivity invokes the playfulness
of Prima & Keely and the musicality of Ella & Armstrong. The Golddiggers
band are a revolving composite of the finest musicians in Nashville.
Golddigger musicians have supported performers as diverse as Robert
Plant, Asleep At the Wheel, Peggy Lee, Lucinda Williams, Frank
Black & the Catholics, Bootsy Collins, Dale Watson and on and
on and on.
From
Prima to Patsy. From Elvis to Ella. The Golddiggers look and sound
spin a magical web suggesting the elegance of the past, while
maintaining an energy & humor, which make them accessible to the
youngest members of any audience.
